Most AI platforms are built for someone else's regulatory environment, then shipped north with a "PIPEDA-ready" sticker on the box. We started the other way around, with Ontario PHIPA, the Official Languages Act, and OSFI E-21 as defaults.
Why we exist
Founded in Toronto in 2026, ClarityCompanion is built for the contact centres that hold up the country, hospitals, cities, utilities, universities, and the financial institutions people trust with their money.
The big AI platforms weren't built here. They were built for US-scale consumer markets, and they treat compliance like a feature flag you turn on for the Canadian deployment. That model leaks: data flows through Virginia for "performance," support tickets get routed offshore, the PIPEDA posture document is a PDF someone updated three years ago.
We think Canadian contact centres deserve an AI platform that doesn't need an asterisk. One where the data residency story is a single sentence. Where the accessibility posture isn't retrofitted. Where the French translation isn't machine-translated from the American English.
So we built one. [Placeholder, full founding story to be written with founder input. The draft above captures the positioning; we'll expand with specifics on how the team came together, what prior work in Canadian healthcare / public sector motivated this, and what the first customers made us realize.]
What we believe
If a feature, a customer, or a product decision conflicts with one of these, the feature, customer, or decision loses.
Customer data lives in Canadian cloud regions. Full stop. No "edge nodes," no "performance caching," no cross-border failover. If a regulator asks where the data is, the answer is one line.
Your transcripts, your recordings, and your case content are never used to train any model, ours or anyone else's. This is contractual, not aspirational.
The AI is not the last line of defence. Every escalation path is configurable. Safety-critical intents route to a human immediately, regardless of AI confidence.
If a certification is on the roadmap, we say "roadmap." If a capability is architecture-level, we say so. We won't hide behind "certified" when the honest word is "aligned."
Team
We'd rather ship deep to a handful of Canadian contact centres than ship shallow to the world.
